4 -grave o serious?-
Nota d'usoL'aggettivo italiano grave riferito a malattie, ferite o in generale a situazioni da difficili da affrontare, non corrisponde all'aggettivo inglese “grave” in contesti informali. Il termine più usato in questi casi è “serious”: Ha una malattia grave, she's got a serious illness (non she's got a grave illness); La situazione è grave, the situation is serious.

Partly si usa più spesso di partially, soprattutto col significato di “in parte”: Performance is assessed partly by examination and partly by written course work, il rendimento è valutato in parte attraverso un esame e in parte attraverso prove scritte durante il corso; Partly because of the poor financial state of the economy and partly because of the weather, profits were down last year, in parte a causa della grave situazione economica e in parte a causa delle condizioni meteorologiche, i profitti l'anno scorso furono bassi.9 pie

¿As, like o how?
He entered as an office-boy, as his father had twenty years before.
He's just like his father. In March, as in April, it rained.
How did you do it?

Tell me your name. Les dijo que se fueran. He told them to go away.
Por el contrario, to say se centra en el contenido del mensaje, sin importarnos a quién va dirigido: ¿Qué has dicho? What did you say? Dijo que sí. He said yes. ➣ Ver nota en tell.
